About Me

Kene Enemo is someone who enjoys just about anything. When she’s not obsessing over cats on YouTube, botching the simplest cake recipe, or dancing to K-POP, Kene can be found writing stories about the inspirational community surrounding her.

Though born and bred in Texas, Kene returned to her home country of Nigeria in 2011 to complete her high school education. Her experiences left her with a new sense of self, her heritage, and the need to explore the unique cultures and journeys of those around her.

Kene returned to Dallas in 2016. She attended Richland College, a community college in Dallas County, and joined the Richland Chronicle, an esteemed community college paper with many prestigious awards. Kene later won her first Texas Intercollegiate Press Association award in 2019 for Best Photography in her story about the voting rally held on the Richland College campus hosted by singer Alicia Keys, YouTuber Liza Koshy and actress America Ferreira.

After transferring to the University of Texas at Arlington 2019, she joined the highly praised news team of The Shorthorn from August till December 2020 and wrote multiple articles covering the liberal arts college. She explored other journalistic fields by volunteering as a news reporter for UTA Radio News, UTA News (television) as well as partaking in projects throughout her senior year.

Kene loves her community and cannot wait to be more active in journalism as a fresh 2022 UT Arlington Communication graduate.
